Let’s say you have a noisy nursery door you want to shut quietly. What are your options? This door latch cover uses elastic bands that stretch around both the inside and outside door handle. The fabric then sits over the top of the door jammer and creates a cushioned, nearly silent, noise when closing the door (paid affiliate links take you to Amazon.com):

This cover is very easy to install and works with a wide variety of door handle. In my experience, there is still a gentle closing sound but the sound is greatly reduced and keeps things quiet (so sleep isn’t disturbed).

What You Need to Know
- Elastic Design – I found the elastic bands on each side easy to stretch around both the inside and outside door handle, ensuring a snug fit.
- Noise Reduction – Yes, it greatly reduces door latch noise. I would call it complete silence – there is still a cushion rubbing sound but it is very quiet and doesn’t seem to bother sleeping.
- Fabric – The door latch cover is crafted from a durable polyester fabric that holds up over frequent use. The covers I purchased measure W4″ x L2″ (10 x 5cm), designed to fit a variety of door sizes.
- Versatile – These door latch covers have several uses. They are good for a nursery, a library, a study room, an office, and much more.
- Drawback – Very little not to like about this simple gadget. My only thing I would point out is because the door latch is now covered, if you have windows open, a strong draft may be able to blow the door open.
