What You Need to Know
- Quick Ice – This countertop ice maker takes only 6 minutes to produce the first batch of 9 ice cubes. This makes it very convenient in comparison to an ice cube tray in the freezer.
- Two Ice Cube Sizes – I prefer the smaller ice cubes but you can choose between two sizes of ice cubes depending on your preference. There is a button on the top of the device that allows you to easily toggle through the ice cube sizes.
- Quiet – I really like how quiet this ice cube maker is. I was expecting it to be kinda noisy – it’s not. When operating, the noise level is below 35dB, which is comparable to the sound of a running refrigerator.
- Transparent Lid and Fullness Sensor – The transparent lid allows me to monitor the ice level, and to prevent overflow the machine has a built-in sensor that automatically stops ice production when the internal bin is full.
- Self-Cleaning – By pressing the ON/OFF button for 5 seconds, you can activate the self-cleaning function which uses the water in the unit to clean itself, simplifying maintenance.
- Portable – This ice machine is compact enough to load easily into a vehicle and transport to different locations.
- Uses – Its fast ice production makes it perfect for parties, office events, family gatherings, or any event where you need a continuous supply of fresh ice.
It’s important to under that this countertop ice maker does not function like a freezer. It does not keep the ice frozen indefinitely like a freezer would. What does this mean? It means that you can expect some melting from the ice if you leave the ice inside the machine.
However, in my opinion, even though it won’t keep ice frozen indefinitely like a freezer, it does a reasonably good job at maintaining ice for a sufficient period. I think the main takeaway is consider the ice suitable for immediate use. For extended periods, transferring ice to a freezer (or maybe a premium cooler) may be necessary.
Although the first batch of ice comes out in about 6 minutes (which is very fast and convenient), to fill the entire internal basket takes closer to an hour of use.
