This pot strainer is designed to clip directly onto your pot to eliminate the need for an additional strainer. This is beneficial for those who need to put both hands on the pot handle when straining and is also beneficial for those with small sinks or limited kitchen space that need space-saving kitchenware.

Is this product easy to use?

This strainer has an easy-to-use design. You simply clip it on the lip of your pot using these clips that are on each end of the strainer.

One thing that did surprise me is the clips don’t open very wide which makes it a little harder to slide the clips over the lip of the bowl IF you have a rounded lip pot (which creates a thicker rim). I find it easier to slip one on at a time (you can see this in the short video I posted earlier in the article).

It’s best to clip this strainer into place (obviously) before the pot is hot.

The only downside to this is having the strainer in place while cooking can *slightly* interfere with stirring (it didn’t bother me much at all but depending on what you are cooking, this could possibly be an issue).

Once clipped in place, the strainer is very easy to use. I was able to strain off all water without the water leaking down onto my cooking pot.

What are the benefits of this strainer?

This strainer makes it much easier for those who need to keep two hands on the pot handle while straining. It also takes up less space than a traditional strainer and helps simplify things for those that have small sinks and small storage space in the kitchen.

It is much smaller than more traditional strainers. For example, here is mine compared to a large (more traditional) strainer I have.

Is it easy to clean?

Yes, it is made of heat-resistant silicone that is very easy to clean (and is dishwasher safe). I usually just rinse wash mine with water right after use.

What’s my verdict?

Overall, this strainer does simplify the straining process. It is easy to clip into place and is effective at straining away water without leaking all over the side of the pot.

But it is also important to say that it only marginally improves the straining process (a process that is pretty simple). If you have ample storage space and sink space I would recommend just sticking with your normal strainer. No need to spend money if not necessary.

However, if you need the extra hand (for strength) on the pot handle, this simple product might be a perfect problem solver for you. And if you need something smaller due to lack of storage space, this strainer will be a good addition.

Is it a must buy? No. Might it solve and simplify the straining process for certain people? Yes.
